Augmented R.eality Ranger Guided Tour Mobile Application

The Department of Environment and Science (DES) is seeking the development and supply of a new and unique mobile optimised application as a proof of concept to enhance visitor experiences and engagement for Springbrook National Park. The final solution from this project must be scalable to incorporate any future nominated national park or QPWS gateway visitor centre. The key focus is on ‘bringing the Ranger experience to life’ while showcasing and educating visitors on Queensland’s wonderful national parks. Through a range of interpretive media, including Augmented Reality, the product will enable visitors to access rich layers of interpretation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples’ cultures, European settlement history, Queensland’s diverse flora and fauna species and unique geological features.
