Infrastructure Management (IM), Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRME) is exercising its’ powers under s342 of the Mineral Resources Act (Qld) 1989 for authorised officers to access USL21433 (former Baal Gammon Copper Site) to undertake activities consistent with s342(1)(a)(i) to manage risks to public health, safety and the environment. This shall include:
a. Operation and maintenance of water pumping infrastructure
b. Treatment of mine affected water
c. General maintenance of the site and structures
d. Minor earthworks
The scope of works includes but is not limited to the following:
· Operation of water management infrastructure (generators, pumps etc.)
· Maintenance of water management infrastructure (generators, pumps etc.)
· Installation of new/or additional water management infrastructure as requested.
· Preparation of weekly status reports to IM DNRME.
· Any other site activities relevant to water management as deemed appropriate by IM DNRME.
· Provide recommendation on improvement strategies on water management.
· Completion of this scope of works on short notice and/or weekends and/or public holidays as required to limit the risk of an uncontrolled spillage.
