Services to undertake Peer Review
Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association Limited (APPEA) has provided a report to the Department of Environment and Science (DES) on water use, supply and management by the Queensland gas industry. This report was provided in response to a request from the former Minister for Environment and Heritage Protection and Minister for National Parks and the Great Barrier Reef the Hon Dr Steven Miles, for APPEA to work with DES and industry to identify whole-of-industry solutions for the long-term management of coal seam gas saline waste.
The report outlines the work undertaken by industry to assess the feasibility of collaborative and alternative long-term solutions to salt management, and states that as a result of this work industry’s preferred salt management solution is encapsulation in purpose-built facilities.
