Youth Sexual Violence and Abuse Services in Toowoomba and South Burnett (071B)
The department is seeking the delivery of contemporary and effective early intervention service responses for children and young people exhibiting sexually reactive behaviour (SRB) to change behaviour, reduce harm and prevent offending.
The new Early Intervention Youth Counselling Services is to provide trauma informed, developmentally sensitive and culturally safe counselling and support to children and young people age 10 – 17 years who are exhibiting SRB, which may include PSB or SAB. Services will work with children and young people and their family, caregivers or carers to change behaviour, reduce harm and prevent offending.
The Youth Connector role to connect young people with specialist sexual abuse and sexual violence counselling services as well as the new early intervention youth counselling services.
