Chilled Water Infrastructure Upgrade - Principal Contractor

Redcliffe Hospital comprises a campus of existing buildings with varying ages, some of which are over 40 years old.

The campus is served via Central Energy Facility (CEF) which includes centralised chilled water cooling system with the plant being located in the Main Building.

The scope of the project is as follows:

  • Provide the Hospital with new chilled water central plant equipment to meet the estimated peak cooling capacity (3.2MW), with appropriate plant redundancy (n+1), in line with the Queensland Health Capital Infrastructure Minimum Requirements.
  • Replacement of critical components of the chilled water infrastructure that is at or nearing end of life, including chillers, cooling towers, headers, pumps, pipework risers and major pipework distribution runs that have been deemed in poor condition and are able to be replaced within the budget and physical constraints of the Hospital, to support the infrastructure with appropriate resilience for a further 7-10 years in line with the Hospital master planning objectives.
