Provision of Laboratory Based Electrical Equipment Safety Check Testing Services
The Electrical Safety Office (ESO) conducts check testing on electrical equipment sourced from the marketplace to ensure compliance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
the ESO wishes to establish a panel of laboratories to test for compliance against selected clauses of the relevant Australian Safety Standards, with the ESO undertaking compliance actions when non-compliances are identified.
The check testing program will target in-scope and commercial industrial electrical equipment based on their prevalence in incidents, industry intelligence or the equipment having a critical safety function. The aim of the check testing program is to identify non-compliant electrical equipment and remove it from the market to prevent risk to Queensland and other Australian consumers.
Note: Only laboratories that are accredited to the standard required for testing of electrical products will be considered for this panel.
