Provision of Earthmoving Services for the Construction of an Internal Road System and Drilling Pads
As part of the Department of Environment and Science’s ongoing monitoring activities and risk assessments at the site of the former Linc Energy Underground Coal Gassification (UCG) plant, two new groundwater monitoring wells are to be sunk. The two new groundwater wells are spread out equally across an area. In order to sink these wells, it is necessary to bring in heavy machinery. An all-weather track needs to be constructed to each well location and at each well location, a drill rig pad needs to be established prior to drilling works commencing. In previous well sinking projects, substantial costs were incurred by the Department due to wet weather leading to equipment not being able to reach and / or operate in the relevant areas.
The purpose of this contract is to engage a supplier to supply material and construct:
One (1) x 700m long by 4m wide by 20cm deep compacted gravel track;
Two (2) x 40m long by 40m wide by 20cm deep compacted gravel drilling pads located within the potential pad area;
Supply of all required water for road and pad construction; and
Works are to be undertaken in September, October or November 2019 within one (1) months' notice given by the customer, prior to works commencing.
This work will occur at a property located off Kummerows Road, Hopeland.
The successful supplier will need to be able to provide Safe Work Method Statements for all works and will need to complete a brief site induction prior to commencing works. At least one first aid trained person (with appropriate first aid kit) must be present at all times while the works are underway.
