The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) is committed to the ongoing support for developing exports of Queensland’s food products. DAF has supported a number of export development initiatives, including its most recent pilot grants program, Growing Queensland’s Food Exports (GQFE). The $1.3 million program operated two rounds of funding in 2017 and 2018 and has funded 15 projects. Each project has been or will be conducted up to a two year period. While a number projects have been completed or a near to completion, the last project is due to be completed in December 2020. Each project will receive up to $100,000 (minimum $50,000) in matched grant funds.
At least one of the commercial businesses has been a recipient of a number of DAF’s export development initiatives since 2007.
DAF is seeking proposals from experienced contractors to undertake an evaluation of the impact of funding the two year GQFE program. The evaluation should include:
· An overall program review
· Review of individual projects
· One long term export development case study
The review should include impacts to the individual commercial businesses and associated wider industry benefits/impacts. Other impacts such a regional benefits should be included where possible.
