Data Protection and Recovery Solution ITO
The University of Queensland (UQ) is a premier Australian tertiary education institution, headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland. The University boasts over 53,000 enrolled students and over 7,500 staff across its three campuses: St Lucia, Herston, and Gatton. Each year, UQ welcomes over 19,000 new students.
Information Technology Services (ITS) manages UQ's data backup and recovery service. The infrastructure required to run this service is based on an aging technology with associated risks. The current backup solution was designed for infrastructure landscape that has transformed considerably over the years including adoption of Cloud, larger size of data sets and advancement of on-premise hosting technologies. The new solution is expected to provide an enhanced level of service that leverages modernised infrastructure, provide a fit-for-purpose system and support the business imperatives - Cloud and On-Premise.
