INVITATION TO SUBMIT A TENDER

You are invited to submit a Tender for the execution and completion of the works described below in accordance with the Drawings and Specification (if any) supplied herewith, the Griffith University Conditions of Tender & Conditions of Contract for ‘Minor Works’ herein, and any other information issued by the Principal for the purposes of tendering.

Description of Works:  

Refurbishment works to the Nathan campus N61_-2.05 Moot Court space consisting of new timber & carpet flooring, new timber feature wall and timber feature ceiling, joinery and seating units. NB: the mechanical works have been completed and existing ceiling treatment removed.

The University recognises the compressed build timeframe and has flexibility to work around delivery and installation of items such as joinery, seating/furniture. The existing joinery and seating can be utilised until the final designed products are available for installation which can be coordinated for installation around timetabled classes.

The timber ceiling treatment must be made to match the width of the LED light fittings – circa 3770mm long,

Install plasterboard to remaining walls, ceiling and the bulkhead encasing the suspended AC plant at the back of the room. Also required is the replacement of the timber ceiling treatment in the entry lobby and hallway,

A raised audience seating area is to be constructed and carpeted with flip up seating,

The existing ramp and raised floor to the Judges bench remains, with new carpet and timber flooring,

Install new lighting (sourced by Griffith and free-issued to the builder),

Joinery works as designed,

The window demolition and replacement will likely not proceed, therefore do not cost this element,

The ceiling demolition and mechanical plant relocation has already occurred,

The AV design is being finalised and will be managed by Griffith University, the builder is to allow for cat 6A cabling to each AV screen – quantity four (4) cable per screen and for 4 cat 6A cables from the AV cabinet to the Server room accessed off the Lobby.

Electrical designs are being finalised and will be issued as an Addendum, however scope will generally consist three GPO’s to the Judges Bench, three GPO’s to the Counsel Table, one GPO to the Witness Stand, two GPO’s to the AV screens, four GPO’s to the Server Rack.

  • The Contract is a Lump Sum Fixed Price not subject to adjustment for rise and fall in costs.
  • Tenders shall remain valid for 30 calendar days.
  • The tenders will not be opened publicly.
  • Tenders will be evaluated in accordance with the following Criteria and weightings, and tenderers are required to address these criteria in their tender submission;
  • CommScope Certification (10%)
    • Provide evidence of Data & Telecommunication contractor CommScope Certification
  • Construction Program (20%)
    • Identify key milestones confirming ability to meet PC date of 17 February 2020
    • Identify stages of the works
    • Identify Lead time items, and non-working times
    • Identify potential Joinery installation date (date is non-binding)
    • Identify the earliest possible access date for AV installation
  • Contractor’s key resources (40%)
    • Provide a list of all key personnel and a one-page CV identifying capacity to complete works on time.
    • Provide a list of subcontractors and a one-page CV of their key personnel and previous experience (CV not required for Griffith University preferred subcontractors)
  •  Construction Methodology (10%)
    • Control of noisy works and demolition
    • Shutdowns and interruptions of services
    • Treatment of containment boundaries
    • Hoarding installation to minimise disruptions to user groups
  • Price (20%)
    • Include price breakdown in Form of Tender Appendix 1
