DNRME Technical Services has managed the Baal Gammon abandoned mine since May 2019. Water management is a major risk for the site, and extensive water management infrastructure exists including submersible pumps, gensets, pipework and evaporator fans. Some modifications are required to improve the safety, reliability and compliance of this system.
Numerous known activities have been scoped up. However an allowance will also be included for expected, but unable to be definitively quantified, future requirements. That includes equipment relocation to suit water needs, as well as maintenance and repair activities that may arise.
