Council is calling for quotations from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to undertake preliminary noise assessments based on siting options for a consolidated shooting facility, to be provided at a yet to be endorsed location within the Gympie Region.

This noise assessment will run in parallel to the freehold land options study, and is required to determine the noise impacts of current shooting activities on existing and future land uses surrounding the Victory Heights sites. This will include considering impacts individually (i.e. each club) and holistically (i.e. collective noise impact when more than one club is meeting). It will also be important to consider impacts on undeveloped land zoned for future residential purposes.
