Gympie Regional Council seeks an audit of the effectiveness of new systems and frameworks designed to protect and enhance the conservation status of species of Regional significance.
Species of Regional Significance include the following:
1. Listed threatened species under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (endangered and vulnerable) that occur in the Gympie Region,
2. Listed threatened species under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 (endangered and vulnerable) that occur in the Gympie Region, and
3. Priority Local Species (a component of Gympie Regional Council's Matters of Local Significance).
