QPWS (hereinafter referred to as the Principal) is an agency within the Department of Environment and Science (DES) is inviting offers from suitably qualified and experienced track and trail contractors for the Design and Construction of approximately 22.5 kilometres in length of the proposed Whitsunday Craig Trail on Whitsunday Island.
The entire trail will form part of an ecotourism multiday walking trail from Tongue Point to Whitehaven Beach over a total distance of approximately 29 kilometres. For the purpose of this project the scope of works is to design and construct approximately 22.5 kilometres of the proposed trail. The remainder of the multiday walking trail is located within an existing trail corridor (to which this project will connect to) or forms part of the boardwalk (not part of this scope).
The successful Contractor will assume the role of Principal Contractor (herein referred to as the Contractor). The delivery of works will be for the Design & Construction of four (4) separate track components (Component A to D) over the work site with possibly multiple qualified track and trail subcontractors completing track components simultaneously. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Design & Construction phase for these four (4) track components.
It is expected that a Practical completion date is by 31th May 2020.
