QPWS is looking to engage suitably qualified Landscape Architectural and Engineering company to provide professional Concept planning services for the future re-development of the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre precinct.
The Concept plan is to scope the physical boundaries of the site providing landscape architectural analysis, concept design for recreation, wildlife and visitor infrastructure including surrounding walking trails;
The site for the most part has outdated park facilities, many of which have exceeded their useful life. These facilities often do not meet the current levels of service and may not be in keeping with current QPWS facility standards. Some of the park infrastructure at this site comprises a combination of the different generations of park facilities, thereby creating an inconsistent Park language. In some cases the site layout does not meet current standards such as PWD (People with Disabilities) access, adequate car and bus parking/turnarounds, crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) as well as general access and egress through and across the site.
Refer to the Project Brief for detailed works specifications (Schedule 1).
