Offers are invited by the State of Queensland (acting through the Department of Justice and Attorney-General) in relation to Invitation to Offer (ITO) 725.2122 for the establishment of a Contract for frontline support to address workplace sexual harassment or discrimination 2021-25.
Notes
1) Through the 2021-22 Federal Budget, the Commonwealth Government allocated an additional $9.662 million over 2021-25 to Queensland for the delivery of legal assistance services to people experiencing workplace sexual harassment or discrimination.
2) This funding has been provided by the Commonwealth Government in response to Recommendation 53 of the Australian Human Rights Commission (the Commission)’s Respect@Work: Sexual Harassment National Inquiry Report (the Report).
3) The Report highlights that legislative and regulatory frameworks provide avenues for victims to seek redress, but there is often confusion among both employers and victims on how to navigate them. The Commission heard that victims may have difficulty navigating their options for taking action on sexual harassment, whether in the workplace, with external agencies or through the courts.
4) $4.351 million over 2021-25 is available to be allocated to Community Legal Centres through this tender process.
5) Community Legal Centres from across the State are encouraged to apply through this process.
6) Refer to the Application Guidelines for full details of the requirements.
