The Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs (DCYJMA) is seeking proposals to develop a Neurodevelopmental Framework for practice and practice standards for the Queensland Youth Justice System by the end of October 2023. 

Youth Justice are seeking to build and strengthen service responses to young people with known or unknown neurodevelopmental disabilities and or mental health issues.

The purpose of a neurodevelopmental framework and the practice standards are to:

  • Build a shared understanding of the principles, attitudes, knowledge, and skills that underpin contemporary evidence-based practice when working with neurodevelopmentally diverse young people in youth justice.
  • To build and strengthen Youth Justice’s service responses to this cohort of young people
