James Cook University (JCU) is seeking Proposals for Principal Design Consultant - JCU Building 1 and Chancellery Place, Townsville.

Project Overview;

This Request for Tender is for a Principal Design Consultant (PDC) and full sub-consultant team commission for the briefing, design and documentation, and contract administration for the refurbishment of Building 001 (Ken Back Chancellery) and development of Chancellery Place at the JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba Campus.

The Building 001 Refurbishment project will reconfigure and refurbish the interior of the building to a high standard with the inclusion of vertical transport and exterior DDA compliant access and egress pathways and landscaping enhancements. 

Chancellery Place will be developed to represent the formal entry to the university, providing direct access to Central Plaza which is situated at the heart of the academic core and running alongside the symbolically and historically important Ken Back Chancellery Building.

The two projects will link seamlessly to provide an integrated design outcome across all disciplines. This RFT includes both projects to be priced separately (using the provided pricing returnable schedule) with a total lump sum offer for both projects to be delivered by the successful principal design consultant.
