Civil and Traffic engineering design services for Laboratory fit-out at 40 & 42 Campbell Street and 11 Tufton Street, Bowen Hill
Insert after Common Preamble:
QRIC has engaged Wilson Architects to lead in the preparation of an Advanced Concept Design, which will inform the detailed design of the project. To assist in this design phase, the services of a Civil and Transport and Traffic Engineer is required. The design phase of the project will generally be as follows:
Stage 1: Advanced Concept Design
A Civil and Transport and Traffic Engineer will provide the architects with the necessary advice and input to facilitate the preparation of an Advanced Concept Design, which will serve multiple purposes including:
(a) Satisfy QRIC's laboratory users and other internal stakeholders that the design will be functional and meet requirements
(b) Allow QRIC to determine the construction and establishment costs (via Quantity Surveying assessment) that will be included in an internal Business Case for funding approval to undertake the work.
This includes ensuring the site will accommodate the service vehicles necessary to service the laboratory and provide a compliant design (including drainage) of the ground level carpark within 42 Campbell Street, Bowen Hills.
Stage 2: Detailed Design
Following completion of Stage 1, QRIC will procced with the preparation of a Detailed Design. The architects will lead this process and the services of a Civil and Transport and Traffic Engineer will be required to assist the architect and other design professionals to prepare a detailed design package. This includes preparing the necessary documentation suitable for Request for Quote documentation.

This contract was awarded following a request for quote - 4 quotes were sought from the market by way of email and the least cost technically compliant offer was selected. Due to the low value of the requirement an informal request for quote method was used as per the QRIC Procurement Policy and Procedures.
