The State of Queensland through Queensland Health, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ) on behalf of Queensland Public Health and Scientific Services (FSS) is undertaking the procurement of a suitably qualified D&C Building Contractor to design, document, construct and install a modular temporary mortuary at John Tonge Centre, Coopers Plains (the Project).

The scope of the Project generally includes but is not limited to:

• The FSS Temporary Mortuary Body Storage project is to design, construct and install a modular temporary mortuary to be located onsite at the Coopers Plains Campus.
• The build must be modular to allow for relocation of the asset in the future.
• The new building/extension will be affixed to the rear of the current mortuary allowing a seamless transfer from the current mortuary through to the new temporary mortuary without the necessity of venturing outside.
• The modules will be constructed offsite and then transported to site.
• The new modular build will comprise of a refrigerated storage area to hold a minimum of 250 persons.  A cold room to house minimum 200 persons and a freezer to house minimum 50 persons.  Standard and bariatric size needs to be addressed.  Racking will be required to be installed.
• Dedicated storage area for DNA specimen storage.
• Dedicated storage area for skeletal remains.
• Dedicated storage room for mortuary equipment including large trolleys.
• Small breakout (kitchenette) area for staff.
• Communications (data) room.
•  Building to align with Australian Health Facility Guidelines and finishes will be typical of the current facilities on site.
