Capability Project
The objective of the Capability Project is to develop a strategy that will provide management with tools and strategies for developing sustainable workforce capability and capacity aligned to the requirements of road operations. Accordingly, technical capability assessment has been recognised as an integral part of ensuring that an appropriate level of workforce capability can be sustained in line with business objectives. The Skills PlanIT cloud computing based system incorporates enterprise specific capability and workforce planning frameworks, utilising skill diagnostics, HR metrics, IT scripts and codes. The reports generated provide insight into skill levels and demographic shifts occurring within the organisation, and this enables management to optimise technical capability development and business performance, which minimises risk to operations. The Capability Project is undertaking a "proof of concept" trial of the Skills PlanIT system, with a test pool of up to 500 TMR employees from Program Delivery and Operations, Road Safety and System Management, RoadTek and Engineering and Technology Division’s.
