MCMG Project - Stage 2 Installation Works E&M for T1300 Mobile Generator
CS Energy is currently installing a number of Solar Turbine mobile power units (MPUs) at the Mica Creek Power Station (MCPS) near Mt Isa in north-west Queensland.
Stage 1 of the project, completed in December 2010, comprised the installation of two 5.7MW Solar Taurus T60 mobile power units designated M1 and M2.
Stage 2 of the project will comprise the addition of a new 15MW Solar Titan T130 mobile power unit designated M3. The nominal Stage 2 programme major milestones are:
• completion of major civil works (by others end April 2011 • possession of site early May 2011 • delivery of step-up generator transformer 5th May 2011 • delivery of Titan 130 mid May 2011 • completion of protection and cabling Works 21st May • switchyard protection test (Bus zone) (by others) 25th May • delivery of fuel gas filter/coalescer 30th May • completion of all major installation Works 15th June 2011 • fuel gas available for commissioning 15th June 2011 • commissioning period mid to late June 2011
The work to be done by the Contractor includes but is not limited to the following: • site establishment • general installation of the Titan 130 mobile power unit (T130) • supply and installation of the new gas system • completion of the general mechanical works • installation and termination of the 11kV high voltage cables and associated works • earthing related works • installation and cabling of transformer protection and control cubicle in C Station electrical building • installation and cabling of hard wired safety system cubicle inside T130 electrical trailer • supply and installation of other low voltage power, control, instrument and communications cables from the C Station electrical building to the T130 • miscellaneous civil/structural works • Site demobilisation and clean-up
Stage 2 may also include some remaining works from Stage 1 which were unable to be completed previously.
