OHS2009/02 PURCHASE OF SERVICES TO IMPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS FROM A WORKFLOW ANALYSIS OF OFFENDER HEALTH SERVICES
An external contractor has recently undertaken a Workflow Analysis in relation to Offender Health Services, which provided the following recommendations: " Define the primary health care model and principles for delivery of health care in a correctional setting. " Consider information technology support to deliver healthcare services effectively and efficiently. " Identify core healthcare services, tasks and activities required for Offender Health Services. " Expand the range of professional roles within Offender Health Services. " Clarify the role of nurses within current scope of practice and extend and maximise nursing practice within current scope. " Consider training strategies, workforce development and career pathways to support healthcare centre staff.
