The Safer Schoolies Initiative is a whole-of-Government response which delivers support services to key tourism destinations that attract Year 12 school leavers holidaying together. The purpose of the Initiative is to enhance the safety and responsible behaviour of school leavers, whilst minimising disruption to the local communities where they gather. Planning for the Response is a twelve-month program, with contractors required to be engaged a considerable time prior to the delivery of the Response in November to ensure their expertise is fully utilised and that they play an active role in the planning process. The department requires services from a suitably qualified security management company to assist in the successful delivery of the Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response.
