Queensland Rail wishes to advise of an upcoming tender opportunity for project QRP-24-13 Toowoomba Range Cutting Stabilisation.
This tender is planned to be released to the market via QTenders in March 2024.
Landslides and rockfalls commonly occur within the Toowoomba Range and evidence of historical land movements has been observed in the vicinity of the site, Ch. 152.38 – 152.46 KM and Ch. 153.3 – 153.52 KM.
Based on the observer movements over time, the Toowoomba Range Cutting Stabilisation C63 and C71 project was created by Queensland Rail to take a proactive approach to remediate the high-risk susceptible to slope instability. The Cutting Remediation Works between Ch. 152.38 – 152.46 KM and Ch. 153.3 – 153.52 KM will provide safe operation for the railway.
Queensland Rail will engage a third-party construction supplier to undertake cutting remediation works in the following cuttings and the areas as shown in the construction drawings:
Cutting C63 (Ch152.38 – 152.46km)
Cutting C71 (Ch153.3 – 153.52km)
Tenderers must attend the mandatory site inspection (estimated for the 12th of March,2024) to ensure that all aspects of the proposed works are inspected, all limits or conditions are identified, and all requirements are clear.
To be considered for this activity, the Contractor must hold the following qualifications and training for the duration of the Project:
- Contractor Safety and Environmental Prequalification Approval – Category 1
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW)
- Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC)
- Queensland Network Lockout training
