Tenders are invited for an experienced planning project manager to support the Mackay/Whitsunday District, Project Planning team in the delivery of key planning projects, programs and sub-programs. Work required to be undertaken will include (but not be limited to) the following: •The successful initiation and planning phases of road and bridge infrastructure projects. •Preparation and/or review of area, route and link strategies, project proposals, option analysis and business cases. •Participating in transport modelling, analysing complex and extensive data sets to make sound engineering judgements and recommendations. •Application of traffic engineering and road safety knowledge to program development and planning projects. •Engaging external consultants by preparing transport planning briefs, calling quotations, letting tenders, conducting negotiations and project managing outcomes.
One or more of the following qualifications are required:
The Planning Project Manager will also require: 1.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the planning, management, design, construction, maintenance or contract administration of projects relating to road and transport infrastructure; 2.Demonstrated experience in some aspects of road and transport infrastructure planning, design and construction; 3.Demonstrated high standard of consultation, collaboration, and group facilitation skills; and 4.Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising projects to TMR policies, standards and specifications.
