The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking information from the market to inform a Business Case for the implementation of a Camera Image and Data Management Solution (CIDMS).
TMR is seeking information from suppliers of software development services, commercial off the shelf (COTS) software products, and systems integrators to better understand the available options for meeting the requirements.
Description of RFI Scope
TMR has identified the need for a Camera Image and Data Management Solution (CIDMS) for a diverse field of camera technology located around the road-network. TMR is in the early phases of establishing a project with the objective of delivering an CIDMS to replace near end-of-life systems as well as provide efficiencies through modern technologies, consolidating capabilities and providing consistency in processes.
The CIDMS will be one part of several systems across a broad value chain, and will provide:
- Image and data ingestion from multiple camera suppliers where there is no standardised data formats into a business data model;
- Image and data storage;
- Validation of data ingested (quality, accuracy, integrity of data) across images and data;
- Analytics and reporting to generate road network insights; and
- Interfacing to other TMR systems.
The approaches to meeting the requirement of an CIDMS being considered by TMR include:
- Outsourced development of the CIDMS (bespoke Software Development and Systems Integration Services);
- Supplier provided CIDMS Software (commercially available product (COTS) that may be in the form of Licensed Software or Software as a Service)
- Provision of a portion of the CIDMS only, being the image and data ingestion and integration to other system components including transformation of the data to a standard format (Systems Integrator).
TMR is seeking any information the market can supply to help inform the Business Case and selection of an approach to delivering a CIDMS.
Following the RFI, further meetings may be held with Suppliers to better understand their submissions and the information provided.
