Tender Overview

Suppliers are invited by James Cook University (JCU) to submit an offer for 001096 for the provision of Clinical Skills Lab as specified in Schedule 2 – Scope of Work. The contract will be managed under a AS4905-2002 Medium Works Contract as a lump sum and as referenced in Schedule 2 – Scope of Works.

This project aims to create a new ‘Clinical Skills Lab’ within Building 94, Level 2, Rooms 201 and 202 within Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences building. It will replicate the existing Clinical Skills Lab located in demountable Building 90 however will expand to include 5 mobiles benches for up to 40 students, storage room, bench space with storage, sinks, emergency eye wash and shower, and audio-visual equipment. The lab is primarily an open space, with a freestanding wall in the northeastern corner designated for storing veterinary teaching equipment and models. Bench space will be installed along all available areas, along with a new teaching station positioned along the freestanding wall, facing west.

The Principal Contractor will manage the fit-out works in accordance with the approved plans and documentation prepared by Tippet Schrock, as the Principal Design Consultant. Scope of work includes demolishing the existing internal wall, seating, and furniture; infilling and framing the existing internal door opening; constructing new freestanding walls; and modifying mechanical and electrical systems to upgrade the space. Only the mobile tables, chairs and storage shelves will be procured separately. This project is designed to improve collaboration and functionality within the lab.
