The scope of the potential Contract will cover the following requirements:
Ophthalmology:
The successful service provider will facilitate the following key objectives for Ophthalmology:
1. 4 visits per year (quarterly) for outpatient clinics and surgery for Ophthalmology.
2. All surgeries to primarily occur at Weipa Integrated Health Service, and other secondary locations including but not limited to Cooktown Multipurpose Health Service.
Optometry:
The successful Optometry service provider will facilitate the following key objectives:
1. Visit all 12 communities which include Cooktown, Hopevale, Wujal Wujal, Laura, Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw, Lockhart River, Coen, Mapoon, Napranum, Aurukun and Weipa, with two visits per community per
annum.
2. In addition to community visits, the Optometrist shall also attend the quarterly surgical lists (or other agreed timeframes based on Ophthalmologists availability) in Weipa, or other pre-approved locations as per
TCHHS direction.
3. For outpatient clinics, provide referrals to Ophthalmology and support follow-up post operatively.
4. Provision of access to the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS) / Spectacle Supply Scheme for the provision of spectacles.
5. Works closely and collaboratively with the TCHHS Southern Eye Health Coordinator.
