Tender Overview

In July-August 2011 ISB sponsored a scoping study: Infrastructure System Improvement Program (ISIP), to determine the resources and timeframe necessary to complete a comprehensive review of ISB’s information technology systems.

As part of the scoping process a 3 Column Analysis workshop was conducted to map the expected benefits. This process also identified the following concerns:

Increasing difficulty in providing timely and accurate asset reporting, due to no single point of truth for asset information;

Increasing likelihood of reputational risk to both the Department and Minister, as a result of not being able to provide timely and accurate asset data; and

As a result it was demonstrated that the current suite of IT systems is a mixture of in-house developed and commercial off the shelf products, with varying ages and technologies. Many of these systems are using technologies that are nearing the end of their useful life and in many cases are not supported by Information Technology Branch. Several of the current information systems were developed in isolation of other systems and related business practices and therefore have little or any interaction with other systems and processes.

Based on this analysis the seven tranches of work have been identified. Project Services are required to undertake Tranche One which is:
