Urban Utilities is responsible for receiving, assessing and approving applications for the connection, disconnection and alteration to the water and sewerage networks within the Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset local government areas. To assist in these functions, Urban Utilities has established a Certification Scheme to provide efficient, quality and cost-effective design and construction certification services.
The Certification Scheme provides a mechanism for customers to engage ‘third-party’ engineering consultants approved by Urban Utilities (Endorsed Consultants) to certify that the design and construction of Property Service Infrastructure and Network Infrastructure classified by Urban Utilities as ‘minor works’ complies with Water Approval Conditions and the SEQ Water Supply and Sewerage Design and Construction Code (SEQ Code).
Urban Utilities is undertaking a review of the current register of Endorsed Consultants and invites engineering consultants with the capability, qualifications and experience needed to carry out the certification services to apply for registration.
The new register of Endorsed Consultants to be established as a result of this EOI Process will replace the existing register of endorsed consultants. Those endorsed consultants, who are presently on the register will, therefore, need to re-apply if they wish to remain on the register.
Prior to considering lodging an EOI Response, please review the scope and nature of the Certification Scheme Services and expertise necessary for the proper performance of the Certification Scheme Services by referring to the:
- EOI Part 3 - Endorsed Consultant Certification Scheme Guidelines; and
- EOI Part 4 - Third-Party Certification Scheme Services Deed.
For detailed information on the EOI Response requirements, please refer to:
- EOI Part 1 – Invitation for EOI and Conditions; and
- EOI Part 2 – EOI Response Schedule.
