The Department of Education invites organisations to apply to lease and operate an early childhood education and care service at a department owned facility located at Waratah Drive in Manunda, Cairns.
The successful lessee will be required to operate an approved ECEC service based on the identified needs of the local community. The service is to cater for children, from birth to school entry age, including kindergarten age children. A service approval to operate under the Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011 must be obtained.
There is no recurrent funding available to support the operation of a service at this vacant facility. However, the successful applicant may be eligible to access operational subsidies under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme.
To lodge a submission by the due date, please read the attached Tender Information Paper and complete the Tender Application Form.
An inspection of the site can be organised upon request by emailing ecec.facilities@qed.qld.gov.au.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, site inspections will be by appointment only and limited to 45 minutes maximum.
