Section 1

Tender Overview

Ultra-low Temperature Freezers (<-80oC) x two (2)

  • Overall capacity should be at least 400L within the external dimensions constraint of 204cm high x 86cm wide.
  • Minimum temperature must be less than -80°C.
  • Freezer must have multiple compartments suitable for the storage of RSC sample bottles (both with and without sample pouches). Bottles without pouches are approximately 5.5 x 11.5 cm (W x H) and with pouches approximately 12 x 6 x 13 cm (W x D x H).
  • Each freezer must be able to store a minimum of 50 samples with pouches.
  • Freezers must be energy efficient without diminishing performance.
  • Each supplier may choose to make separate offers of different manufacturers/models/configurations/packages. Each offer will be treated as a separate individual offer
  • Full specifications of each offered freezer package is to be supplied, including but not limited to, noise levels, heat outputs, electrical requirements, refrigerant type, power usage (kWh per day), dimensions, time to reach minimum <-80°C and sustainability.
  • Lockable main door/s for each freezer.
  • Package should include but not limited to electronic temperature monitoring system, alarm and failure notification system via SMS/text to mobile phone and temperature back-up systems (CO2 or other) that can be monitored through the current SecurCom alarm system at RSC or other method agreeable to RSC.
  • Locally based service engineers with sound knowledge of the service and maintenance of the offered freezers is essential.
  • Pricing must include delivery, installation and commissioning of all requested components.
  • Minimum 12 months warranty, with optional pricing for post-warranty breakdown repair and service contracts
  • Ongoing service and maintenance contracts available and cost effective after the initial warranty period.
