Tender Overview

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) intends to approach the market for the provision of Catering Services - QPS Academy Oxley and Wacol Police Complex.  The QPS seeks to engage a Supplier/s qualified to provide Catering Services at both police facilities.

Offerors will be given the opportunity to tender for both facilities or one facility only.

The Supplier/s must maintain a consistently high standard of catering at either facility. The Supplier/s shall provide highly nutritious meals, especially for recruits who are undertaking training activities, including classroom training and practical training that requires a high amount of physical energy. These facilities also cater for on-site staff, course participants and guests.

Supplier/s with experience in catering for a high volume of people in a limited period of time is required at the QPSA Oxley facility (for example the lunch service at the Academy operates between 11.30am and 1.00pm and on some days up to 230 meals are required to be served from the cafeteria).  The facility at Wacol is a takeaway cafe style facility. Meals must be served by the Supplier’s catering staff at both facilities.

The QPS will provide a fully functional kitchen facility at both the QPSA and Wacol Police Complex whereby the QPS owns and maintains the commercial equipment and the Supplier is responsible for supplying point-of-sale and computer equipment, crockery, glassware, cutlery and utensils used during food preparation.

The anticipated release of this tender is end of June to mid July 2022.  The intended period of the arrangement will be an initial 24 month period with the option to extend for up to a period of an additional 48 months at the sole discretion of QPS.

The anticipated award period of this tender is November 2022 with onsite service commencing on 1 January 2023.
