A disaster can seriously disrupt a community, causing financial, emotional and psychological hardship for affected residents. The state government, and other entities, coordinate disaster responses, to help communities recover from a range of events like storms, cyclones, floods, fires, explosions, infestations, and pandemics.
The Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy is committed to ensuring Queenslanders are resilient and recover well from disasters.
Applications are requested from individuals and/or organisations, across Queensland, to provide a range of human and social services to support communities recover from disaster events. These services will support existing ones provided under Local and District Disaster Management Plans.
This SOA is made up of eight service types: Information, Assessment and Referral; Case Management and Coordination; Counselling; Financial Counselling and Resilience; Psychological First Aid; Financial and Material Assistance; Capability Building - Volunteer Services and Chaplaincy Services; Coordination / Network Development - Service Coordination.
An industry briefing will be conducted at 9:30am AEST on Tuesday 12th July 2022 via Microsoft Teams.
