Section 1

Tender Overview

The Department of Education (the department) invites organisations to apply to lease and operate an early childhood education and care (ECEC) service at a department owned facility located at Dixon Street, Strathpine in the Moreton Bay Region.

The successful applicant will operate an innovative, self-funded ECEC program that reflects the context of the local community and aims to address the issues impacting on children’s ability to thrive in the early years and beyond.  If required, the successful applicant must be eligible to obtain a service approval to operate under the Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011

Please note, a schedule of works has recently been undertaken to refresh the building and grounds prior to tenanting. The scope of work is available upon request.  There is no capital or establishment (fit-out) funding available to support changes to the structure of the asset. If refurbishments are proposed, the plans and scope for the upgrades will need to be agreed with the department and the works will need to comply with departmental building and design requirements. All costs associated with upgrades and refurbishments to the facility are to be met by the applicant.

There is no recurrent funding available to support the operation of a service at this vacant facility. However, the successful applicant may be eligible to access operational subsidies under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme.

To lodge a submission by the due date, please read the attached Tender Information Paper and complete the Tender Application Form.

An inspection of the site can be organised upon request by emailing ecec.facilities@qed.qld.gov.au.

PLEASE NOTE: Onsite inspections will only be by appointment. Due to the nature of the remaining works being undertaken, part of the outdoor play area may have limited access.  Alternatively, building plans can be made available upon request.

If you require any assistance with your application or have any questions in relation to the process, please email ecec.facilities@qed.qld.gov.au or telephone (07) 3328 6719.
