Section 1

Tender Overview

Scope
UQ seeks offers for the delivery of a bus service to transport UQ staff, students and authorised UQ visitors between St Lucia and Gatton Campuses and between St Lucia and Long Pocket. Planned services and timetables are set out in Appendix A. In addition, And to also provide ad hoc services for events such as shuttle services during major events such as Graduations. This also includes bus charter services for various UQ departments.


Requirements
UQ’s high level requirements for this solution (Requirements) are specified below, however it is expected that your response may include additional features that are unique to your proposal.
• Coach style bus for St Lucia/Gatton Service
• Smaller size bus for St Lucia/Long Pocket Service
• Buses provided in service to be full electric or zero-emissions technology
• Wheelchair capability
• Distance capability to service the scheduled routes
• All buses to be UQ branded with UQ approved decal
• All buses to be equipped with up-to-date safety and QLD Roads and Transport compliance requirements
• Charging capability
• Service and maintenance requirements
• Buses must be equipped with staff and student identification card readers (on- and off-boarding), online booking system (app based) and SMS messaging to alert users of service updates in the event of traffic conditions causing delays
• Ongoing technical support for the online booking system and reporting (ie passenger manifests, capacity utilisation etc)
• Wi-Fi availability and reliability to allow all travellers internet access whilst enroute
• Experienced drivers dedicated to the UQ service with back up drivers in place familiarised with the schedules and routes
• Documented contingency plan in the event of service disruptions


Out of scope
UQ’s current expectation is that the scope of the solution will not encompass:
• UQ supplying EV charging infrastructure
