Ports North (PN) is responsible for the development and management of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and regional centres in Far North Queensland. The Corporation has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports. PN owns and maintains a 22kV high voltage network at the southern end of Tingira Street, Portsmith Cairns. The HV network provides the backbone that enables PN to provide power to key port stakeholders in the Portsmith area. The network generally serves the eastern side of Tingira street (Masons cargo area southwards) as well as key stakeholders at the southern end of Tingira Street. At present the PN network has a single point of supply from the Ergon network, provided by overhead powerlines at the intersection of Aumuller and Tingira Streets. The works will be staged to deliver the SPOS first, thus enabling the network to be powered whilst the EPOS is upgraded. Works will include (but not be limited to):
The works include delivery of the PN components of the network upgrades as well as delivering key components of the infrastructure required for the Ergon network. The Contractor will be required to work closely with PN and Ergon through all phases of the works. PN requests Tender Submissions from suitably qualified and available Contractors with appropriate experience in all aspects of High Voltage Infrastructure for the provision of these works. Works are within an operational environment and include working with Ergon. |
