Tender Overview

The Queensland Government is seeking Tenders from prospective allocation holders for the allocation of Quarry Materials (Sand) in Tidal Waters from The Spitfire Channel Resource Area within Moreton Bay.

For detailed information on the specific goods / services sought under this tender, please review the "Invitation to Tender for Allocation of Quarry Materials (Sand) in Tidal Water from the Spitfire Channel Resource Area within Moreton Bay' which is attached.

It will be noted that the Invitation states that: “The study has found that the inferred sand available to the current depth limit of -20m LAT is approx. 7.6 million cubic metres and to a depth of -22m LAT this increases to approx. 14 million cubic metres. Hence at an extraction rate of approximately 1 million cubic metres per year there should be more than adequate sand down to – 22m LAT to meet demand over the next six years”.

Total allocations above 1 million cubic metres per annum will be considered. However, the Department reserves the right to reduce the allocations sought to a total maximum at its discretion.
