Expressions of Interest – Arts Refurbishment Project
The oldest secondary school in Queensland, Ipswich Grammar School (IGS) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential Principal Contractors to deliver the Arts Refurbishment Project (ARP). The ARP is a construction/refurbishment project designed to convert the old science classrooms in the HC Wilson Building into Music, Art, Design, Drama and Practice classrooms centralising all the Arts programs in one central building location and introducing new technologies and enhance the function and aesthetics of the facility.
This project involves a fully documented lump sum AS4000 contract for refurbishment works to provide - 2 x Art GLA’s, 1 x Art/Design Lab, 1 x Art Storage/Prep room, 1 x Music Ensemble GLA, 1 x Junior Music GLA, 8 x Music Practice Rooms, 1 x Music Storeroom, 2 x Drama GLA’s, 1 x Music/Drama GLA, 1 x Office and 1 x Drama Storage room. There is also new, and relocation of services and structural element works including; roofing, glazing, new lighting, power & data, mechanical, hydraulics and acoustics works at an estimated contact value of $2,750,000 (excluding GST).
This project for IGS will be a challenge being centrally located with the heart of the school campus which provides access to a significant number of school buildings for both the school community and staff/students alike. The school is to remain fully operational throughout the refurbishment works with safety and limited disruption to the school operations as a priority.
A select list of 6 contractors will be shortlisted from this EOI process. Expressions of Interest are to include responses to the following criteria information, no more than 2 pages per criteria:
- Recent (last 10 years) past experience in similar works including referees Recent musical fitout works within secondary schools (preferably private schools) will be highly regarded.
- Company Capability Statement including company details, organisational structure, relevant licencing and insurances
- Key proposed Project Team members, their experience, proposed role on the project, and their level of project attendance.
- A brief summary identifying some of the potential project challenges and how your project team will address them.
Contractors will be shortlisted for a tender period that will commence in October 2022. Shortlisted tenderers will receive further detailed project information and a campus tour during the tender period.
