Tender Overview

QED 115370 Web Content Filtering Managed Service

The Department of Education (the department) is issuing this forward notice to advise interested parties of an upcoming invitation to offer (ITO) to engage a supplier for the provision of a Web Content Filtering managed service.

Web content filtering is the practice of blocking access to web content that may be deemed offensive, inappropriate, or even dangerous to schools or the department and is critical to the department’s architecture to ensure the network remains secure, tracked, and safe for all users.  Reporting and analytics from the web content filtering solution play an important role in the management of student wellbeing.

The department intends to release an ITO for a Web Content Filtering Managed Service, the scope of which may include:

  • Web content filtering solution (for schools and corporate offices);
  • Management portal suitable for managing local school arrangements for web content filtering;
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) reporting services;
  • Associated network architecture and network devices;
  • A managed service for the solution; and
  • Transition-in and Transition-out services.

The ITO is expected to be released via the QTenders platform in the last quarter of the 2022 calendar year (Oct-Dec).
