Tender Overview

Metro North Health (MNH) is issuing this forward notice to advise interested parties of an upcoming Expression of Interest for the Provision of an Advanced Manufacturing Centre at Herston Health Precinct.

Organisations must have the ability to design, commission and run a hospital-based Advanced Manufacturing (3D printing) Centre that will be located within the Herston Health Precinct.

The goals of this hospital-based manufacturing centre should be to:

  1. Provide strong linkages with research and development activities occurring in the Herston Biofabrication Institute.
  2. Create and strengthen engagement and collaboration between specialists and biomedical engineers in innovative ways that advance use of clinical applications and improve overall patient outcomes.
  3. Allow greater patient customisation in a way that will improve patient outcomes and support cost savings for the health system.
  4. Mitigate supply chain issues and build resiliency in the supply of personalised medical devices.
  5. Manufacture of products and devices that result in lower distribution and inventory costs.

It is expected that Expression of Interest documentation will be available in November 2022 here on the QTenders website
