Tender Overview |
---|
The Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (RDMW) operates a network of approximately 400 stream gauging stations throughout Queensland, which provide essential information to manage access to water entitlements and supporting the Bureau of Meteorology’s Queensland flood warning services. The data recorded at these sites can be accessed at https://water-monitoring.information.qld.gov.au/ A proportion of the stations are of an older construction type; while these are structurally sound, the manner of accessing the stations is via ladder or old-style stairwells. To improve the safety and practicality of access, old ladders and stairwells will be replaced with stairwells that are to current building standards. DRDMW through the Water Monitoring unit is inviting offers from contractors to remove old stairwells and ladders from fourteen (14) gauging stations, and to replace them with new stairwells that are certified to Australian building standards. The Successful Contractor will assume the role of Principal Contractor (the Contractor) over the sites. The contract is to be performed by a qualified, QBCC licenced low rise builder or other suitably licenced contractor. All work is to meet Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia and is to be performed with minimal disruption to the public.
