Tender Overview

Summary of the Opportunity
The University of Queensland (UQ) seeks offers from qualified Structural Engineers for the supply of a technical report which details the façade condition of buildings selected by The University of Queensland Property and Facilities Department.  The supplier will provide UQ with a technical report that records defects on the building façade and provides the organisation with information on the types and risks of defects identified. 
Background and Objectives Provide UQ with a technical report including photographs that records defects on the building facade and provides the organisation with information on the types and severity of risks and defects identified in the Specifications area. Certification of the audit report.

Specification for Services 

  • RPEQ Qualified structural engineer to inspect and report on façade and associated fixtures.
  • 100% of the façade, fixtures and fittings to be inspected and reported.
  • Digital report to be provided for each building and will contain as a minimum;
    • Building Description and Location
    • Defect Observations, providing unique id and location for each defect.
    • Photographs (visual and thermal spectrums) geolocated on a building model.
    • Comments on the building condition and defects classified by severity and type.
    • Include features such as windows, doors, vents and hoods that may have direct exposure to the weather. Also consider cracks, corrosion and weather seals as part of this assessment
    • Recommendations on repair for each defect.
    • Estimated cost of repair for each defect.
  • Provide schedule of works, that is flexible and approved based on university activities.
  • Provide relevant documentation such as safe work method statements, working at heights and other legislation and standards
  • Working times to be agreed with UQ representative to allow internal notifications to be undertaken.

Report to be completed and delivered within 21 days from the building inspection
