The Queensland Government through the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is seeking expressions of interest for Large Green Shiny Mungbeans M19100 under the National Mungbean Improvement Program. M19100 has the potential to achieve higher export grade quality prices more consistently. M19100 will remove the guess work for growers around a sowing choice between Jade-AU or Opal-AU based on projected disease pressure for an upcoming season. To have a seed size larger than Jade-AU with almost Opal-AU level halo blight resistance is a remarkable achievement and a long-term ambition of NMIP to produce genuine large green shiny halo blight resistant varieties.
