Section 1

Tender Overview

The existing Bombardier MITRAC TPT equipment on our IMU120/SMU220 and IMU160/SMU260 electric multiple unit Rollingstock fleets is becoming obsolete.

The primary project objective is to design and deliver a direct replacement traction package and TCMS across the 98x 3-car vehicles that make up these fleets, that has the equivalent or improved functionality and performance of the existing system.

The new design is expected to directly interface and integrate with the existing sub-systems on the vehicle, without requiring any modification to the Rollingstock; facilitate direct removal and replacement with the new system at a Queensland Rail facility with minimal impact to vehicle availability.

EOI Objectives

  • The purpose of this EOI is to engage vendors with demonstrated experience of delivering these outcomes, to inform overall project and design feasibility in order to progress to tender.
  • The vendors are to advise on similar works previously performed and provide technical specifications including viability considering the current technical information as per section 4 (Preamble Document).
  • Those vendors who can demonstrate experience and are interested in working with Queensland Rail on this project will be invited to participate in further detailed discussions regarding project feasibility.

For this Express of Interest (EOI), the information uploaded on QTenders is not all the information. However, it is intended to assist suppliers / interested respondents to determine whether their company is able to fulfill the requirement and provide the information required.

Vendors are required to review the preamble document to understand the EOI requirements and process.
