Tender Overview

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified Suppliers with an established presence in Australia to invite to a closed ITO process for the provision of services to support the North Queensland (NQ) Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) capability (known as “POLAIR NQ”), commencing in the Townsville region, including but not limited to: aerial patrols, patrol support, traffic enforcement, search, surveillance and reconnaissance, community engagement and public order operations.

The initial requirements for these goods / services specifically include:

  • A fleet at least two (2) helicopters to meet the agency’s capability and service requirement, which necessitates one (1) helicopter available 24/7/365 to deliver airborne law enforcement, operational transport, search and rescue and disaster management services.
  • The primary coverage area of POLAIR is 120 nautical mile land radius around Townsville but with capacity for periodic deployment to other NQ regional localities as required.
  • The expected fleet output is 1,560 hours annually.
  • The provision of an operating base in the Townsville Local Government Area (LGA).
