Tender Overview

The Creative Services Team at the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) produces a variety of video content, including large-scale campaigns that require extensive video and photo assets. The current workflow involves storing all footage and project files on the G drive, which is accessible to the four team members. However, the G drive's network speed and storage limitations are significantly hindering the team's ability to efficiently edit and collaborate on video projects, particularly those involving medium to large amounts of footage.

The primary challenges include:

i. Network Speed: The G drive operates at a maximum speed of 1GbE, which is insufficient for editing 4K video footage. In practice, the speed is often slower than 1GbE, making it impractical for video editing workflows.

ii. Storage Space: Team members rely on local 4TB HDDs to store footage for large campaigns due to the G drive's limitations. This workaround requires frequent copying of files between local drives and the G drive, consuming hours of time and reducing agility.

iii. Collaboration: The decentralised storage of footage creates significant inefficiencies in collaborative workflows. When team members need to pick up a project started by someone else, they must copy footage to their local drives and re-link files within the editing software, delaying project progress.

These issues are impacting the team's productivity, agility, and ability to meet conflicting deadlines effectively
